Developing Clarity, Courage & Connections
to Change Your World
with

Peter Block, Margaret Wheatley, Dinesh Chandra and Aimee Bernstein

Dec 13th - Dec 15th, 2002 at Marconi Conference Center

FOR GOODNESS SAKE

As the fall is upon us, we pause to reflect on the extraordinary events of this past year. Each of us is concerned about how to make sense of it all. Is there a greater meaning that is woven through our collective and individual stories? How can we best deal with the heightened pressure in our lives, our communities and our world? Must it keep us silent to all that is going on or can it empower us to take action, and to do it … for goodness sake?

Four of us,--- Margaret Wheatley, Peter, Dinesh and Aimee--- wish to extend an invitation to you to join us the week-end of December 13th to explore how each of us may work on behalf of the changes we want to see in our worlds. We are inviting a diverse group of people-- representatives from
government, business, church, education, the arts and non-profit groups. We are inviting young people and people of all ages. We ask that you come together with open heart and open mind. We ask that you join us for goodness sake.

December is a month to dream dreams, to run deeper rather than faster, to clarify the questions that will move us from confusion to clarity, and to inquire into what right action in such uncertain and volatile times may be. The holiday season is a time to consider what gifts we want to contribute to ourselves, our communities and our world. It is a time to come together with like-minded people; to generously share our thoughts, our hearts, our spirits and find the reconciliation, joy and peace that is our birth right.

The meeting runs from Friday at 3 PM , December 13 through Sunday noon , December 15 and will be held at the Marconi Center , 18500 State Route 1, Marshall , Ca, a beautiful and reflective retreat center on the ocean in Northern California (http://www.marconiconfctr.org/).
.
The meeting will be a mixture of a few presentations designed to catalyze conversation, but will primarily be devoted to powerful conversations among committed people who are looking for more ways to be active and useful in the world.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that was going on inside himself. He said "My son, it is between two wolves." One is filled with anger, hatred, envy, sorrow, regret, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego....The other is filled with joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith... The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins"? The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one I feed."
