The purpose of this website is to be a resource for creating a
common understanding of Globalcitizenship and to create a value network of
individuals and organizations who believe that individuals and organizations
have the holistic responsibility for Human and Economic Development. We are
aware that such organizations are few and by connecting globally perhaps we
can encourage each other and organizations to become prototypes of Human and
Economic development with a commitment to global community.
Websites for several organizations who are part of this value network are
linked here.

| What are
the characteristics of a global citizen? |
|
In
a metaphorical tree a global citizen is deeply rooted in his native culture yet
the branches are spreading out in the world expressing an openness and a desire
to coexist with other trees and begins in an ecological balance. Tree offers a
lot to the world in fruits, shades, seeds, and life sustainability by
converting Carbon di Oxide into Oxygen.

Prior to this, he
started Global Quality Inc., a firm specializing in Organizational
Transformation in 1992. He has worked with leading organizations in Building
Learning Communities. Although trained as an engineer, Dinesh soon learned that
the key, to successful implementation of the new technology, was the people
using the new system and consequently developed a keen interest into the human
aspect. His state of the art knowledge of how to integrate technologies with the
human side has led to his success as a consultant in the U.S., U.K., France,
Canada, India, Singapore, Jamaica, Bahamas, Barbados, Trinidad, Brazil and other
parts of the globe where he has consulted for the last fifteen years. He
facilitates 'Executive Retreats' and also conducts 'Transformational Leadership'
workshop, with a focus on integration of cognitive, emotional, physical and
spiritual sides, for business leaders in several countries. Recent article
"Dharamshala Dreaming: A traveler's search for the meaning of work" in
the 'Insights on Leadership' published by John Wiley & Sons describes that
experience.
As former Director of Productivity for Coulter
Corporation, he served as Internal Consultant and was credited with their
turn around in the face of stiff Japanese competition in the late
eighties. As Project Director for the implementation of Total Quality
Management (TQM) he lead Coulter teams around the globe. Since then, he
has worked with hundreds of teams helping them develop strategic visions
and plans, develop collaboration and partnerships and redesign their work
processes. Over the last few years his work has also included community
building and the facilitation of corporations' process to become learning
organizations. His most recent articles entitled "Beyond Ego to
Wisdom: the Eicher Experience" and "One Bank's Experience"
have appeared in the anthologies, Learning Organizations: Developing
Cultures for Tomorrows Workplace and Community Building: Renewing Spirit
and Learning in Business.
